TRIP TO BASEL

As a parallel activity to the exhibition ‘Wallonia-Brussels, Barcelona and Basel_shared living spaces’, an exhibition resulting from the sixth edition of the Cities Connection Project, a trip is organised to discover the art and architecture of this Swiss city, walking through its old town, where notable buildings are located, visiting the works of young studios present in the exhibition, such as Stereo Architektur, Atelier Neume, Bruchner Bründler, Focketyn del Rio, among others, or accessing the Vitra Campus.

Travel program

The departure is scheduled for Saturday 29 April at 12.25 pm from Barcelona airport. The return flight will be on Monday 1 May, arriving in Barcelona at 6.55 pm.

On the first day, after leaving the bags at the Schweizerhof Hotel, we will visit Basel’s old town, strolling by emblematic buildings. This day we will have dinner at Die Saeurei, next to the Kaserne, and a drink at the Atelier Bar (next to the SAM).

On Sunday, we will visit the cooperative complex Erlenmatt (Buchner Bründler), the Vitra Campus -where we will also have lunch-, and the cooperative complex Abakus (Stereo) + Dirty Harry (AtelierNeume). On this day, dinner is not scheduled.

On Monday morning, the meeting point has been set at the Messeplatz exhibition centre in Herzog de Meuron, in order to go to the Alma Maki studio (*yet to be confirmed) and Kaserne de Focketyn Del Rio. Lunch will take place at the Kabar (next to the Kaserne) and then we will be off to the airport and back to Barcelona.
