“The Loop Project,” the new book by MIAS Architects published by Actar, is a collection of the studio’s work and research from the past two decades. Their work cannot be explained solely by finished results; one must understand the design process: everything that happens before the cranes arrive. With this goal in mind, the book illustrates projects in their final state and in their conceptualization, serving as an archive in itself.
The book presentation will feature the author alongside architects who have worked at the studio in recent years. The presentation aims to provide a collective view of the work, led by the architects who designed and conceptualized it alongside Josep. It’s a new format that emphasizes teamwork, knowledge transmission, and a commitment to quality processes.
Participants include Marina Povedano, architect and philosopher; Mauro Soro, head of projects at MIAS; Marc Subirana, founding partner of MACH and former head of projects at MIAS; and Silvia Brandi, director of the Fixing the Future Festival and former head of projects at MIAS. The conversation will conclude with an intervention by Maria Buhigas, Chief Architect of the Barcelona City Council.
