Presentation of the book ‘The Housing Problem: Reality or Fiction’ by the architect Albert Danés Tejedor. As well as the author, the architect Josep Anton Acebillo and Joan Ràfols, an economist specialised in Urban Economy at Harvard University, will also participate.

“For the user, a home represents a place of rest, protection, comfort, security, communication and both spiritual and material value. But for society and especially for power groups, it is also an economic and political value. We can industrially build a liner, with capacity for 10,000 people. This proves that the manufacture of multi-family homes in an industrial context is perfectly possible. In this way, we would achieve more sustainable homes with higher quality and, above all, more economical.

Can anyone imagine, nowadays, a car or a boat manufactured by hand, just like houses?

Throughout this book, I will explain how I came to the conclusion that nobody is interested in solving the housing problem, either consciously or unconsciously.”

Albert Danés Tejedor, author of “The Housing Problem: Reality or Fiction”.

Albert Danés Tejedor (Barcelona, 1942), is an architect who also studied at the Writing School of the Barcelona Athenaeum. Other published books: ‘El Plec’ and ‘La Citara a les mans’.
