Català-Roca
Francesc Català-Roca (1922-1998) was, without a doubt, the most significant photographer of architecture in Barcelona and Catalonia from the 1950s until well into the 1970s. He had such a defining influence on the dissemination and documentation of this extensive period that it is safe to say his photographs created a model for representation with clearly defined codes, which was imitated for more than three decades. The selection of images we present here were taken by Català-Roca of the headquarters of the Gustavo Gili publishing company during its construction and opening. This collection, together with the images by the photographer included in each case study, form a series of more than a 100 photographs that are part of the commemorative acts in celebration of the centenary of his birth.
