Exhibition based on works recently awarded in COAC competitions. Through their observation, it proposes an informative look at the profession of architecture, always open and “out of the box,” combining creation and transformation with research, design, mediation, and artistic expression. Intended for non-expert audiences.
This exhibition is based on outstanding works awarded in recent years in Catalonia within the framework of architectural competitions promoted by the Mostres d’Arquitectura catalana program of the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya(COAC). By observing these works, the exhibition offers an accessible perspective on the work of architects, stemming from a profession that is unfinished and always evolving, one that takes space, complexity, and seemingly unrelated disciplines as its raw materials. It does so from a singular and rich body of knowledge that increasingly operates “out of the box” (beyond conventional frameworks), going beyond what is commonly assumed — namely, the classical profession linked solely to building construction and urban planning.
It presents architecture as an adaptive and ever-changing practice in each project. While it shapes spaces through two broad lines of action — creation and transformation — it also engages in fields such as outreach, mediation, artistic expression, design, and research.
The exhibition is intended for audiences unfamiliar with the architectural field. Associated activities accompany the exhibition.
